Worst Day of My Life

I always get a little chuckle when a high school gal tells me that a given day is the "Worst day of her life", and probably the worst day of anyone else's life too. On one hand, these girls only have about 5,840 days under their belts, so perhaps that makes it easier to decide which one is really the worst day they've had so far. On the other hand, they've probably got another 25,185 days to go, and if they think day 5,840 is bad, imagine what day 8,463 will be like.
That's what day I'm on, and about an hour ago, I told my husband that I was having "Quite possibly the worst day of the year." Obviously, a little less extreme than the worst day of my life, but still pretty ridiculous. And if it is, in fact, "Quite possibly the worst day of the year," then I've had a pretty terrific year.
Here's the list of today's offenses against me:
1. Planned on doing an experiment starting at 1pm today, but somebody else used our equipment and pushed my start time to 2pm, putting me an entire 60 minutes off schedule... which really is no big deal.
2. Called doctor's office with a few easy questions, the nurse kept giving me answers that didn't make sense, and after 20 minutes, she was able to send my doctor a message... The doctor called me back about 5 minutes later and answered all of my questions... So really, not a big deal.
3... 3... Oh, I guess just two for the day. Like I said, if this was "Quite possibly the worst day of the year", then the rest of my year must have been pretty terrific. Which it was... And here's the evidence:
June 2005 - Offered 3 research positions at Penn State in one day.
July 2005 - Celebrated Matthew's birthday with him, for the first year in a long time.
August 2005 - Moved into an awesome townhouse with my even-more-awesome husband, started my first independent research project at Penn State (which failed miserably, but was still fun.), went to my first State College YoungLife Leadership meeting, went to my first State College High School football game, and met most of the high school sophomore girls that I know now.
September 2005 - Spent Labor Day weekend in State College with Dad, Sue, Kristen, and Matt, who drove about 24 hours to be with us for 30.
October 2005 - Spent a weekend with Luke's parents that included a tour of Luke's lab.
November 2005 - Found out that Luke passed his Ph.D candicacy exams on the first try, and spent a weekend with 10 State High girls at Lake Champion.
December 2005 - Spent Christmas with Luke's family, and for the first time in my life, really realized how incredible the Christmas story truly is... (The one about Jesus, not the one about the Red Rider BB Gun.)
January 2006 -Spent New Years' with my family, introduced Luke to my high school friends, and celebrated one year of the happiest, or maybe 2nd happiest marriage ever (My Grandma and Grandpa Perek are pretty, pretty happy together.)
February 2006 - YoungLife Ski Marathon!
March 2006 - Celebrated my birthday for an entire week (as usual), got a new car AND an awesome racing orange bike!
April 2006 - Watched Luke get 2nd place in a cycling race at Penn State... and rode my bike on a busy road for the first time... and maybe the last time :)
May 2006 - Had the last YL club of the year... At least 150 kids, BBQ tailgate, 100-foot banana split, and one of the leaders ate a live goldfish. Gross.
