Mole Day

In honor of Mr. Amedeo Avogadro and his number, 6.02214199 × 10^23, which is equal to the number of molecules in one mole, today (10/23), we celebrate mole day. Here are some great ways to celebrate:

1. Watch a marathon of tivo'd Celebrity Mole episodes. The ones with Kathy Griffin are my favorites.

2. Invite Cindy Crawford over, and make yourself a matching birthmark with brown eyeliner.

3. Make some mole poblano, a popular sauce in Mexican cuisine. Mole poblano is prepared with dried chile peppers (commonly ancho, pasilla, mulato and chipotle), nuts, spices, unsweetened chocolate, salt, and a variety of other ingredients including charred avocado leaves.

4. Watch some reruns of Kim Possible. Apparently, it's cool in high school to have a naked mole rat as a pet.
