Long before the first official rickroll was rolled, long long before Rick himself rolled Thanksgiving, "Never Gonna Give You Up" had me absolutely fooled. From the song's debut in 1987 until my 15th birthday, I thought that the song was "Then I'm Gonna Give You Up," with a chorus of:

Then I'm gonna let you down
Then I'm gonna run around and desert you
Then I'm gonna make you cry
Then I'm gonna say goodbye
Then I'm gonna tell a lie and hurt you

Sounded like a jerk to me. If momma was married to this guy, I wouldn't blame her for kissing Santa Claus last night.
